Let’s hear the question again.. Are You Ready For A New Backstreet Boys Album in 2012?!

Let’s first be perfectly clear here. What we know about a new album from the Backstreet Boys at this moment is not a hell of a lot. In fact, the best we can give you as this is written is just the rumors that we have dug up. Everything started when Backstreet Boys member Howie D appeared at Clevver Music to perform a acoustical rendition of his just released single “Lie To Me”.

All of this was for an upcoming “Live On Sunset” episode. Now granted, after the performance was the interview in which he revealed that indeed we will see a new Backstreet Boys album in the upcoming year. Once again, nothing specific just a standard “We’ll be back in the studio in 2012 to work on a new Backstreet Boys Album.”

Ok, that’s all well and good and is definitely good publicity to keep the bands name out there, but if you look deeper and use a bit of common sense, you probably might come to the same conclusion I have. And that my dear friends is this. If a new album indeed does happen, I wouldn’t expect it until the last half of the year. Why? Simple. First of all you have to remember that the Backstreet Boys joined forces with The New Kids On The Block in late 2010 to put out a joint album and to embark on a joint tour.

Second of all, this past October dates for the UK and Europe portions of the tour were announced on the groups official website Backstreetboys.com. This part of the tour doesn’t wind up until May 13th in Malmo, Sweden. So, first half of the year is pretty much taken care of don’t you think?

Now, unless they already have some songs finished and waiting, they have to get into the studio, right? So let’s say they knock everything out quickly, a month or two, that puts a release of a new album into late summer. Hey, I’m not trying to burst anyones bubble here, just stating the facts as I see them! Like you, I’d like to see a new album from the foursome. After all the last studio album we had from the Backstreet Boys was back in 2009 when they released “This Is Us.” As always, we shall keep digging and if we find out more, you’ll be the first to know!
